Under a purple sky Dancers danced their backs arched and hearts swaying Stomping willing feet Roaring your rythem Stars gushed around you shining heated light Burning your strong and weary back ~and leeches crept suckling your baby skin Blood flowed yours. but pain always was a normalacy for you wasn't it? ~you never did get to be a baby Our hands Our feet stained red with your blood, with our love for you but kisses always abound in a circle of friends A ribbon of light splits the skies the rain pours, and of the salt of your sweat melts the enemies of your skin ~and~ Your nose finally cracked I thank God Your nose finally Cracked *watching someone live through a drug addiction is tough - but it is so awesome to see them actually get free from it - [This message has been edited by Copperbell (10-03-2004 11:08 PM).] |

Wow. Ditto...Powerful. Pleasantly haunting tribute those engaged in such a struggle...really for survival. It was touching and I loved it. You really were right on target with this one. flawless! Kevin |

Marguerita, the addiction has a mighty power to drag a person down, its an incredible amount of power to pull a person out of it Inked- he can think again - and spend his energy on good things |

Hello Copperbell. I believe this is the first of your poems I have read. I was surprised by the imagery you weaved. Amazing! And yet that word does not really suffice. This is an incredible piece. Thank-you for gifting it to the reader. Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history! |

Me too - the best thing is they have an opportunity to speak to kids in schools about it |
