dandylion and windowsill She's my pretty autumn rose blooming and blushing in a September pose I sit in the coming winter of my content pulling down the last summer sideshow tent painting the sky a dark ocean blue painting all my visions of you Laying a dandylion on her windowsill laying down beside her, her hair I feel little toes tickling, ticking time away softly I pull down the dawn of the day to live serene in her topaz eyes watch the candle moonlight as it dies Hey pretty Pittsburgh rose blooming up through the concrete rows in the dark city night I found her pulling down hopes of significant others wearing a green sweater and a glassy smile classy style going on for miles and miles And might I suggest my affection to caress your shining derelict sun into a pretty autumn rose for me so glad, so glad you chose me over all those morons back home I'm glad to keep you as my own Pretty, pretty rose pretty city overdose on sweet summer honey sweet darling scarlet sun shines its soft warmth on my pretty autumn rose "Poets are all who love, who feel great truths, and tell them; and the truth of truths is love." --Philip James Bailey |
