Drunken sophomores run across my mind Smiling I think, “Let them have their daylight” Quiet fingers brush through wavy hair Taped to midterms, carefree and exotic Crowds pretending not to stare But do so anyway… Encouragement drives away Holding a cell phone to their ears Listening to assassins Unopened quart bottles lay in ice chests Nodding twice, like a smile of apology Dusk waters the horse of Judas Collecting discarded prophylactics Bursts of flames send embers skyward Ebbing, glowing bands, kissing the eyes of voice Like a good-by long overdue Splashing shyly in urine, Marred beyond human understanding Bored cricket whispers count hours short-lived Until they’ll no longer sing, with eyes downcast Cheeky protests rub their feet Flooding drums breathe a footpath heavy Highways whoosh by, making the ground tremble Sage pays them no mind, while rolling on through people Packing furniture waits, pointing direction “Do you need a ride” inviting middle aged children! Portrayal hugs close to perfection I believe tires glide gently on the pavement Stamped with Good Year focus New jobs look through darkened windows Claiming whispers in mother’s ears Funny looking gold circles stand behind counters Pressing dolls to their Victoria Secret braziers Breathing life into them, like a gorgeous motion picture While a somber faced Gabriel, gains gradual speed Table tops nod politely, flowing over marble white Crude teachers, too embarrassed to back up And take a good long look or admit the vine of Egypt Critique becomes a code of ethics Venus ties an apron around her waist while Sopping up spilled milk, cramming for tests As if hot wired by sensual significance While stanch intimacy watches MTV Wrapping vocal chords with clustering innocence Dr. Small becomes a soldier in the living Looking on in horror as a lamb starves Einstein is dumbfounded While Hitler passes worldwide saucers Spitting at tradition…. Reason becomes questions Skeptics triple blame, waving their arms wildly Embedding into the fabric of assumptions Metamorphosis begging freethinkers to curb their dogs Papyrus paints ugliness on closed minds In the end/beginning times, God holds the scrapbook While holy rollers perish the thought And reality codes contradictions While faith follows behind at their heels I remember a woman mumbling something bout Nothing being coincidental Substance is intentional So are false priests Society fears a one in a million long shot Terrorists draw lines Any connection with the prostitute? Who speaks many languages? Hormones running around with legs and feet Awakening senses, in the name of love Jumping from one pioneer to another Jousting with great miracles and promised lands Love is dying from a broken heart While victims look confused Death trains move into the spotlight Words hold a gun to the head of daylight Buttery pleasures become secret terms Tortured by grief, uncaring With fiendishly clever statistics Licking their lips Pointing fingers at intimacy Lying naked to boost the child Saying, hey, it’s ok, I love you? Intellectual minds unravel the Torah Modern day references rape rebuttals Calling it organized religion Is it any wonder the economy is depressed? While Christ draws all men on a canvas of self Still there are those who bring beautiful food Like a man with no face Healed from spiritual cancer Asking a carpenter to build his home In the name of Death I opt to be an alien Sponging up vinegar Dressed in bloody rags Donate to the Salvation Army Without a deductible While skipping stones or’r a pond Focusing on the ripples those stones cause Going against the mob Giving mouth to mouth to the underdog The colors change, when you learn CPR |

The season dawns Appreciated as ever Mothers seeking a requiem For a season Managed to delight and enslave A generation Of keepers of breeders In grass they gasp And faint away In the heat that someone might not say Thundering oft as machines do The grass is cut And so do you Cut and stay Cut and run By your value You are strung As God in his immortal force Dispences rewards To his devil's force To trample the ungodly Wallowing in a heaven Of desire Of money Speaking Uncertainty As we drive by And on To our desires As we capture A wish to desire No matter Your desire Dave |

Lee I have your email that you cant receive mine but unfortunately I use a digital signature and S/MIME format on email which means a lot of companies bounce it because it is a security format and they or the office software or their gateway can't handle it. I can't unfortunately do anything about it, but I can receive your emails. Dave |
