The rain poured
an eternal stream
last night;

can't you see the trees' distortion,
their customary composure
thrown off kilter,

and these tiresome tears
neverending,

now warping the euphoric haze,
that once padded this heart's lacerations,

and you leave now
turning your face
to where the moon
never reveals herself,

the storm played its overture
despite you,

i stand guard in the center,
holding onto myself
in the downpour,

as you continue to feign
your obscurity,

without explanation,
you slipped through
in the undertow, as the
rain plays like a mime
that defines my condition,

the moon will refurbish herself
and perhaps her tides
will give way
to the truth of your elusiveness,

though i thrive on the catharsis
as this storm becomes my surrogate,

i take refuge
in the mist that lingers,
whispering in the light
of my endless desire for you.

Dear Michelle, your endless desire is masterfully rendered .... holding to yourself diminishes the vulnerability.

Love and hugs.

Wow - I can feel the streams of water across flesh coursing emotion.

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.
