~*~

Your game is so routine,
mundane;
as a matter of fact.
The way you prey
on those who grace your way
filling your needs without a clue.
Unsuspecting.

Which has nothing to do with,
you're so vague and so damn vain
naturally,
I recognize myself
feeling pitiful.

Your demeanor has less to do with you
and more to do with me,
buying into your neediness
that I was too blind to see
as you pull the same strings,
the ones you fashion to feed your endless desire
rationed out with a slow hand,
embarrassing me.

I am so beyond your alibis
indifferent to the pain and uncertainty
that I lacked
in my endless pursuit to be loved.
God help me please.

I've made my peace and solitude
at long last, shucking my halo
coming to terms with what really matters
and whom;
wishing we had never crossed paths
or waded in those shallow pools
that you filled with a cool indifference.

Only now do I appreciate the endless pain
and know it as my own
coursing through my veins,
that will sum up the end of my days.
Sad to say;
you were a terminal tear jerk
that hardly matters anymore.

Delete me if you will
once and for always
for I'll never chance to love that way again
even if that means
taking a detour to heaven.

Not that I'll blame you,
for I'm wise enough to own up,
you were a lesson learned the hard way
to be reckoned with, on borrowed time,
a number I couldn't even count on
when I'm dying.

Bluesie,
We gotta talk. This is indeed gut wrenching. Extremely well done.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

It does seem so routine with some of them, doesn't it.... like the figures on a cuckoo clock that trundle out and go through their meaningless pantomime, as if the time of day were something that could actually excite the wood of them into action....when really, they aren't even capable of caring what they do. May you never, never mistake one for human again....I wish this for you, with no wood in the wishing.

Painful read and definitely penned in a way to draw the reader in.  There is a song of happiness for us all out there, it just takes the trials in life to find the right one.  Placing yourself first is the best place to start and remember, play on a level field.  You should never have to climb to walk side by side.

I like what Mark said.  This is a well-woven story!  Pass the kleenex, please.  Ken

NO NO
u must love again just as you desire
dont let this one take your spirit
it was him,not you

This is the heart and soul of blues music,
bluesy, the ache and cry which you sing so well. Somewhere, sometime, maybe you will encounter the soul whose heart beats in synch with yours, some one who will turn this tune into a lovers lullaby.
