~*~

My sighs are not where I reside
they still my heart and wounded pride
a waste of all my tears inside
like water runs beneath a bridge.

When church bells ring, transcending sound
reminding me that love abounds
of virtues lying there in wait,
a gift that gave myself away.

I kept your name and what it meant
to have and hold for all my days.
You cross my mind like clinging vines
plotted out in all due time.

I put your needs before my own
and held you high above the sun
my first mistake, my last hurrah
my final will and testament.

Misfortunes in, of changing rhyme
casting shadows on my past
like reaching for the stars, unfound
a wanderlust not meant to last.

You trimmed me back then cut me off
to make more room for what you lacked.
But still I tend to dreams I had
and hold my breath where you come in.

What is someone to do about a love that didn't meet expectations, but won't go away?
Well written.  Ken

Through rubble and trouble and dark of night
The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light

It is hard when we find some dreams do not have happy endings.  Thank heavens there is always a new night's slumber bringing forth the chance for a new dream of wonder -

Sweet dreams to you, dear lady-

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.

I don't have the answer either, obviously.
Thanks for reading kayjay~

That's right Susan, I'm just tired of trying.
I think a dreamless sleep is order.
Thank you for your nice reply.

Aw Kacy, but he was my best bud!!!
I'm not fretting too much,
I know enough that it won't change anything.
Thanks a bunch for stopping by..

What we cannot change, we must accept...personally...I like arranging the bouquets in my garden, best of all.
Hang in there.
