from a report on Huntington, Quebec No authority in the dead of night what roam streets out of parental sight their children are not tucked in bed in front of community hall instead The mayor didn't say what they're up to to get them home he's applied a curfew out of touch with liberal thoughts some say he'd rather stick to his guns this way Child are inheritors of adult life what we do passes onto them all is transitory yet we see one horse towns not a single police car to enforce a logical rule child's on a tandem or at school. Now the parent may neglect his fry stark truths haunt under moon lit sky not only are kids away from their books their also acquire the talent of crooks invade resident homes as nightly visitors uninvited, found relaxed in comfy armchairs town homes invaded, the mayor sets you square all is transitory seems calm in town lots next day last night kids got into a midnight fray... the word authority isn't popular with human rights what when kids roam streets late into nights... |

It may seem old fashioned, but children truly do need limits, rules, and discipline. I am not talking about martial rule, but parents who care, are involved and lovingly guide their children. And the children, though they may verbally protest, in truth, it is found they want thier parents involved in the guidance of their life. I have seen the difference first hand within my own sphere of being - you bring up a very valid concern. Susan Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you. Joy is a state of mind. |

That is true Susan children in their own way of asking want aome kind of authority and its up to adults to provide that and not martial law and the rule of the strap. Quebec has the highest suicide rate in the world and there is a link in the fraility of family structure here and those premature deaths. By family structure not only am I refering to the application of the rule of food clothing and shelter but giving guidance to the child and setting certain rules. |
