I lie alone, this silent night,
~ Alone with the inner me.
The miles I've walked, flood my mind,
~ On a journey once made by we.

My hands touch your phantom face,
My arms hold empty air.
My pillow takes the form of you,
But you're never really there.

Our road had been a smooth one,
But then we hit a curve.
Our love went straight on through it
~ We didn't even swerve.

The crash broke not my body,
But it shattered my trusting heart.
The night you left for another,
Was an ending ~ and a start.

I head out in the world,
~ I grew and found my way.
Learning lessons as I went,
And greeting each new day!

That's a way to look at it....it still hurts though.....but this is the attitude to take!

Yes, there is often some lingering residue from a painful experience ~ but with the right attitude, we can overcome almost anything!

Nancy ~

I am so unbelievably happy with the man who later came into my life. However, he did not have to pick up any pieces! I had already put myself back together and was thriving!

If I had not grown into the woman that I now am, he probably would not be a part of my life today! We attract what we ourselves are ~ and I couldn't have accepted less than what I now have with him!

Sorry to hear that you have gone through a similar experience. ~ Dems scars kin be downright stubborn ta git rid of!

Fortunately, time does have a way of healing our woes! ~ and thank goodness for that!

Linda- your words often are like a breeze, and yet they carry the weight of wisdom.  Enjoyed-

Linda, you are such an inspiration to so many.  I think that our hearts have to be broken to be put back in a way that makes them even bigger....and yours truly is a big heart.  Muchos lovos!  KBHBLY......lily jo
