Upon the Leaf's Multiplication

I nearly dismissed you
(on the first time round)
but was able to intercept
what i took for a most definite farewell,
and retrieved you on the wind's bypassing;

a bit of redemption always comes sweet,
as these netted hands of late
seem to come up empty on the glorious ones
catching instead the remains of broken arrows,

as i saw you laying face down
amid the others layering the spotted grass,

the ambers and the crimsons found,
as you now turn to me, face up,
blended in contrasts
a bit of dark amid the light,
(or is it the other way around?)

a contradiction of sorts
as each bleeds in eachoter's space,
as when paints are custom mixed
upon requisition of the hopeless romantic
clinging to dreams
the heart has always believed
are never completey forsaken;

turn the seasons again

stir the atrophied heartstrings

it comes and it goes;

i leave open the door
always,

never expecting the unexpected,

taken by surprise when it comes instead,
upon the leaf's multiplication.
