Foreward:
Serenity most graciously allowed me a glimpse into her thoughts on a subject, the resultant ballad is an interpretation based on her theme.

               "Of sea and Shells"

Why is it I can't seem to hear the truth between the waves?
In light sparkled reflection of this question, I would crave
an answer in the pounding of the surf upon the shore,
yet none are there forthcoming, in my mind the silence roars.

What wisdom would seek passage through the curl of my ear,
accustomed to the echoes of the tired and the drear?
Perhaps some clue might linger in the spiral of a shell,
some hint that would distinguish what the ocean will not tell.

Why is it I can't hear this, aren't such anwers meant for me?
The surf of pounding messages, the silence of the sea,
both hold a fascination that's grown harder to conceal,
no depth of understanding will cause Nature to reveal,

but where, at times seems possible, one whisper to ignore,
the one we all must answer to, when answers are no more.

Your words carried me right along but it was the ending that moved me even further.

I loved the ocean theme and how you captured her mystique.

You two should du et say, every other day?

This is such a beauty, in content, form, and intent. What a wonderful way to blend two voices together, to create a write to remember.
a keeper

miscellania, passing shadows, BluesSerenade,
Dark Angel, Martie, Midnitesun.
(seems like I'm forgetting someone,?) Oh well,
Thanks to you all. This was both a challenge and a pleasure. serenity's ( that's who I forgot!) words were true inspiration. As for another, that may be in the works.
(serenity, you dance divinely, the pleasure was all mine.)
