Please, little sparrow with fluffy down, come be my friend don't wing away, my tears swell easily this cold, gray day. A tender memory cleft my heart's wound and now my eyes o'er flow with melting pain-- warm thoughts returned too soon. O, little sparrow, peeking from Winter's shivering bough, please flutter down on airy path-- light near. Trill your sweet song, your one note cheer, wipe my weeping heart with choral weave, dry these pains that flood my brow. Look, little friend, another needs you near-- a tiny sapling's torn from its Mother dear who weeps thick tears-- anguished, as her little one withers near. Sweet, fluffy one, I as the Mother pine could not reach out and help my hurting, tender ones-- my life. Strong, cold winds had whisked them far from me-- my darling daughter, my gentle son, my loving wife. So please little sparrow, don't fly away, come near and just a moment stay. Tomorrow I'll bring a morsel fresh to warm your chill chase hunger's fear. For now, just trill your little song and help me please, to stem these trickling tears. |

Wow. Such a tender, gentle write. I don't know what inspired this, but it makes me think of those who have suffered the devastion of the hurricane. But...then again, it could speak of a lonely soul, too. It leaves a nice space for interpretation. Enjoyed. miscellanea |

This touches my heart with a tug of compassion - Susan Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you. Joy is a state of mind. |
