The Daisy and His Buttercup |

"I love you, little buttercup", the daisy gushed one day, in a field of wild flowers, so colorful and gay. "You are so bright, and yellow, you reflect gold rays of sun. Would you like to sway with me? ~and have a bit of fun?" The buttercup, demure and shy, blushed at this bold request. "Thank you, Sir, but the sun is hot, and I need this time, to rest." The daisy was heart-broken, when Buttercup turned away. Petals fell down, to the ground, as his joy turned to dismay. Buttercup's heart soon melted, it filled with tears of dew, she whispered to the daisy, "Yes, I'll sway with you!" A gentle breeze was blowing, and the flowers soon did sway. All was right in the meadow, this sunny, summer's day. "I love you, little buttercup", the daisy gushed one day, in a field of wild flowers, so colorful and gay. miscellanea ~ Glad you enjoyed my poem on floral fun in the sun! I find it very satisfying writing for children ~ and grown-ups seem to enjoy whimsically light and innocent poems as well! I suppose it is the child in each of us!   EA |

Well, Angel of the Meadow, you know I love flower poems, and this one reminds me of a song I used to hear when I was a child -- so sweet, and I could not be happier for the daisy and his buttercup -- they make a sweet bouquet! *hugs & lubs* and wishes for pleasant sailing.... the lily lady |
