One finger to her lips To hush the words which rushed In falling tumbled gush Like stream that played upon the stones Someplace in a forgotten youth I waited For shadows shift And cattails along the edge of lake To whisper words for me to speak As they crossed sword like leaves In mock crossness at the sun Fading Leaving them again Another night to defend Against the rustled run of hidden things That follow the moon and when In darkness all seemed strange I heard them whisper “ It is the way we are To grow and die And then to fall But while we’re here This place is ours” And I wondered Should I have hushed her Then |

"I heard them whisper “ It is the way we are To grow and die And then to fall But while we’re here This place is ours” And I wondered Should I have hushed her Then" No I don't think you should have... but, that's just me... and once again I'm trying to slow my heartrate. Beautiful captivating writing sir. ~ Summer can't be over... |

Just Gorgeous. Maree The clouds never expect it when it rains, but the sea, changes colour, but the sea, does not change. |

but while we're here.... yes. And no, you shouldn't have stopped her. This one is full of good stuff. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |

I stand amongst them through your words, watching the sun settle, feeling their souls speak in the brush of the wind. Beautiful. Susan Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you. Joy is a state of mind. |

Methinks you've learned all your lessons... and then some. Staring at cattails again. Hmm. |

"Another night to defend Against the rustled run of hidden things" Something about this little gem of a line hidden in the center...like a seed The whole ain't bad either! |
