There was a time when action and reaction seemed so much quicker,
seemed so much more valuable if given within a heartbeats clock.
I used to think it was important to think fast
anything else declaring weakness in character, weakness in thought,
and surely vulnerability of a soul.

Yet today I reflect.
My thought process taking time to introspect and process
where I have been
who I have known
and the lessons learned from the color or lack thereof.

My tears come easier for I no longer fear a message of need or sympathy.
Tears have become the mirror of my spirit, the blood of my wounds.
No longer needing to hide my hurt, my despair or disappointment with life, love or people.
Knowing I am just as human as they, knowing they are no better and I, no worse.

I have learned to take my time with thought.
To listen more to my intuition.
To hear the whispers in my mind.

I may never find the half I seek,
nor the kind of security that can be found in another’s arms.
But I find in myself the courage to continue to look, hope,

and cry when it hurts.

"cast me gently into the morning, for the night has been unkind"

good to see you survived the big blow down that way... but then the Govt is used to hot air and lots of wind so it shouldn't be any surprise you all made it through.

~ and you have "learned" a great deal!

May you continue to find in yourself, "the courage to continue to look, hope,

and cry when it hurts."

~ A deep and meaningful write.

Sending you a big, warm, comforting hug,

Your introspection is greatly appreciated!!
Makes me cringe when I think of all the things I've said and done without thinking.

You brought a tear to my eye, and made me feel more human than I have in a long time.

Outstanding poetry Susan~ *Truly*
Take good care of you.

Knowing I am just as human as they, knowing they are no better and I, no worse.

Just one of about 20 or so lines that are
so true and so honestly written.

I remember the days when react was expected
and stop and think was close to failure...

And I have felt many of these thoughts, as
well as having shed quite a few tears over
the years...without shame.

Susan, I believe those whispers will guide you to where you need to be.  You chose a perfect title for this pensive poem.  I so much get where you are coming from dear friend, and this touched me deeply.  Good write.   ....jo

Susan,
This is such wonderful writing, showing growth and dimension of thought in such a poetic manner.  I plan to keep this--maybe the wisdom within will rub off onto me someday!  Thanks,

This is a truly wonderful piece of writing Susan, and I am placing it in my library to read over and over again. Hugs, Chris

You all are far more kind than I deserve, especially since I have not found the time to read and respond as much as I usually like.

Thank you for taking the time to read and understand.  It's what makes this place a home.
