For Fate Persists

My restless heart, oft tears apart,
The love she's repeatedly bestowed,
Her works of art; give no fresh start,
To my narrow medieval mode.
In seclusion, there's illusion,
And I'm wedded to its fable,
Yea preclusion, disillusion,
Keeps' mine own heart and want's stable.

Ignore her needs, her soul that bleeds,
And live within narrow confines,
Yea she concedes, that widow's weeds,
Oft necessity undermines.
Never grant trust, or readjust,
Your thinking so you might conform,
For love's unjust, merely a thrust,
Of surrender which we perform.

'Tis better sir, if we deter,
From the fleshly act of love,
Oh oui monsieur, I do prefer,
To remain intolerant of;
A single kiss, where hate insists,
That what we share this day will die,
For fate persists, that the abyss,
Yawns open when she says, "Good-bye!"

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!

Your writing is brilliant and awe-inspiring.  It is a treat to read the work of such incredible talent.  Your poems are sweeping, epic, examples of classical writing at its very best.  Your posts are always so eloquent, visual, and thought-provoking.  All of your posts that I can manage to get my hands on a real privelege to share in.

Warm regards to, sir.

Kevin

Indeed, Fate ofttimes does have a fickle finger!

A very fine piece of writing, Dear Evocative One!

May the Fates be kind to you on your life's journey!

Well done Kevin,  enjoyed this and the
inner rhyme that you used to spice the
lines up just a tad.  Nice.
