it was nothing, i was just falling flat on my face. and his arms were out of sight, cradled around the moon and i remember the reflections the stars made in his eyes. but he was gone. already on his way to brighter grass and open highways waiting for the perfect song on the radio. he was alone. and i was lovesick. but it was nothing, i was just falling flat on my face. it was nothing, just me crying on my pillowcase. it was nothing, just time ticking away the minutes left for me to live. but my insides are starting to spit me back out. and i don’t care about my broken wings, i’ll find a way to reach those clouds and my favorite apple tree. i’ll find a way to reach the high tide and the destination you’re trying so hard to find. and it will be nothing, nothing at all. we all need mirrors to remind ourselves who we really are. |

A lot said in this poignant poem. I gave up long ago trying to become what others wanted me to be as it leads to poems such as this. Nicely done. |

You may have momentarily fallen flat on your face, but with a resilient spirit like yours, your wings will mend and you will soon be soaring through the clouds again! May your favorite apple tree be forever fruitful ~ and within your reach. I enjoyed the fruits of your pen very much! Warm, welcoming hugs, Earth Angel |
