There’s a hunger inside of me,
An always desire that wishes to be free,
Kept in check by my personality,
My circumstances and circumspect
Which others may or may not detect.
Despite the gnawing I pause and reflect
And make the choices that define
The inner workings of my mind,
The cruelties and parts that are kind.
I could weaken and feed the hunger easily
Without bowing to dignity to so protect,
But that is the most important of things that are mine.
