We arrived, the morning mist flowing, like a vapor of breath, silent, rising, earth breathing, without sound, Birds flying, wading, finding, to catch their prey, pecking, digging heads into the ground, The suns soft hues were faint, glowing in the blue sky above, my thoughts were on my love, Magnificiant, beautiful birds, so wonderful, wild, free, their nature reserve, a secluded retreat, A day of bright sunshine and hope, as I sat at noon upon the pincic table, opening my sandwich to eat, Although the day was beautiful, bright, the one thing missing, you, with nature and beauty there, you were still in sight, What a glorious, inspiring day, full of family, conversation, a day without a single tear, No paper to write my thoughts upon, So I have written it , upon the postcard of my heart, "I Wish You Were Here!" "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart."~Helen Keller (1880-1968) |
