And now there's this, the voices say,
for lack of better words to start,
reminding me of yesterdays,
when needed most, how they'd depart.

Had they but spoken true before,
and had I chosen then to heed,
I wouldn't be talking to myself,
as I'd no lomger feel the need.

Although it is with much regret
I hear them say, I told you so,
they chide me for my actions, yet
, were silent not so long ago

when I had sought their council in
a matter close unto my heart,
and now there's this to fill the void,
quite simply, that's the hardest part.

And now there's this, those mocking words
I seem to hear more oft' of late,
and now there's this, as if I've not
enough I need to contemplate.
