Sorting out where it’s all at
Relieving the grief
Sharing the joy
Blowing off insecurities
Working out uncertainties -
All in the presence
Of a friend.

Understanding why this didn’t work
And that did.
Remembering days of being a kid.
Taking a moment to be fully present,
With now,
In appreciation of
Being with a friend.

Accepting differences,
Sharing life and experiences
Lived separately, together.
What was good
And what was bad
What we’ve lost
That we once had.

Today was good
Tomorrow looks promising
The world is less intimidating
And all that
Simply because of
A friendly chat.
