Existence short, as is such, Life will trick my eyes. As hope soon fades and I've lost touch, the truth, of course, a lie; I'll reach out, with hope elapsed, weak will mere instinct belies. A long-frayed life line, far beyond my sight, bobs short among the waves. And I, bereft, to drift and die, too long lost for thoughts to save. It has all begun to run afoul. Night precedes a dying day. I will follow, in unhallowed ground, and inevitably slip away. |
