These the few days of last have been grey in their sky dropping sparse rain from clouds that refuse to cry yet show bruises against the blue and turn a shoulder cool to the heat of this the month of August and I seek something warm to remind me I am alive and wrap warm around this skin Your eyes reflected the ripples of lake and grey waters turned slightly blue while you watched in an absent way the change of wind on wave the dance of small crests on stone I wondered how my hands would fit your curves as I watched stray strand of sun shine through the dress you wore and how the taste of you would sit on my tongue if I sampled the sea of you Your face remained still as I hurriedly drew words in my mind to hold the image of you there and to draw from later when I would imagine you beside the bed letting soft cotton fall to reveal what here in this the cold of Summer you hid I am drawn to the twist of hair now lit in fading sun And ponder what it means When August fails to share her warmth And Spring tempests still form from clotted sky |

"and I seek something warm to remind me I am alive and wrap warm around this skin" oh this is incredible. i read it in my mind with the gentlest of voices...and then read it again. it tickles the page, it wraps and caresses the tongue..... you have to stop outdoing yourself...i can taste your poetry! wonderful |

I just occurred to me what your words are....foreplay. Always a sensual play on skin...a caress of words. and I always welcome it. "cast me gently into the morning, for the night has been unkind" |

Hey Ron, you know, an angel's wings first came to mind when I read to about the third stanza about being warm . . . and then the twisted hair . . . goodness that made me sad -->> seeing the last of the days of summer -->> the last of many things . . . this is beautifully saddening . . . like Mozarts, "Ave Maria." I have missed your words . . . |
