And fireflies rise in lucent troves Mocking birds thank the rest of life Sheet music humming lyrics curled River birch neighbors fill sprinkling cans Free calm sleeps easy by a pond While poetry sits drinking rum Distracting my mind to empty rooms & Opera glasses whisper bout expanding firewood Cinnamon coffee wind, ravishes video recordings Bout fresh observations which jog in my hand Surprise, what an ironic quest…break-heart honesty Minds the store, shopping bags filled with noisy fruit I sat still, hardly breathing, like an eight year old Wild honey suckle, energizing dream songs Digging up things laying dormant Test driving a romantic honeymoon…absurdly Awakened by coyotes See how they exhale, howling important voices? Spoken and collected like working veterans Daring little busy serpentine paths, turning over The in between hours, arching curved promissory notes Spellbound & naked daylight, turns to valorous social flames High-stepping white pines, climbing mountains of four leaf clovers Spilling aerial views all over the place…exercising Wrapped in tropical sea foam…murmuring Like riding a bike Stimulant, little feet throwing pop corn for seagulls The world buzzes on a threshold with fat hope Humped backed whales break the surface I could see them from a distance And was simply happy to be there While life opened her purse |
