Ruffian, thugs of summer, Gangs mugging dociles Pushing them out of the way, Trying to take their place.... * But above them stands a deity With hoe-steel, rapier sharp Held above the crowns of infidels; Parting his children From those of lesser Gods. * But behind more come: Exposing themselves in public places, Spewing their seeds, lewdly In front of the ladies mantle, Rubbing the backsides of stocks Touching private parts of tomatoes; Like soldiers of satanic armies, With diabolical needs. |

Who would think one could personify the evil of a weed so very well? Oh, I know ~ you! Excellent! The imagery was so vivid... don't get sunburned...wear that hat! |

AH! I know these rebels well. My flowers do not bloom, but oh the weed. These hearty scoundrel's creep across my innocent yard. No water, no enriched food do they need. They bloom and make my nose drip. Ah! The all powerful WEED I know them well. BonBon |

This has such a feel of centuries past... as the hoards pillage and the screams of ladies wail into the night.... Well done Ice...I never thought a weed could be written as well as this...but, now it has! |

Ford...excellent job of personification here...loved the touch of humor. Ya know...you may not agree, but I kind of like weeds, some are quite beautiful and I admire their tenacity! |

This is great! Big smile here. I'm going to go tackle some of those ruffians very soon. You grant me courage! Susan Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you. Joy is a state of mind. |

Thank you all for reading and your replies... I really have nothing against weeds in general, it is the particular weeds that have tried to overtake my gardens this year... Weeds are beautiful, like Martie, I admire their beauty and tenacity...most wildflowers are considered weeds, but not by me...I like to look at them, but on the outside my flower beds. ------ice ><> |
