The night was deep as I prepared for sleep, Appointment with nightmares for me to keep, Then the phone began singing steadily it was ringing In hope of hidden someone me bringing To talk, to implore, beg me out once more. Hanging the phone and my head looking at the soft of bed No rendezvous with those dreams I so dread, I would soon be going to a reality unknowing As the despair of thoughts were growing To go, and to aid, to rescue once more. I saw him as he sat in the calmness of a cat I was going out again and that was that All he would need was a little more feed So I filled his water and food with speed, Took my cane, and car keys heading for the door. As I strode to my car I chanced to see a falling star Across the sky with not a wandering cloud to mar Slowly, carefully I got in, starting the car’s engine To journey a path that I knew not where would end So driving and heading for another rocky shore. After miles and miles of driving at last there was arriving To find her teary eyed but yet surviving Broken beside the road to her I slowly strode Stayed to comfort till the truck came and towed And I left, with her returning home once more. It was near the break of day and I dropped her off on the way Continuing though she did beg me to stay To journey the last alone till arriving back at home From the tired travels I did sleeplessly roam, To shower, then redress to leave to work once more. What a tale to tell Proff, but as usual, you tell it as only you can. |

Dear Gandolf, Only you can write the way you do, Always telling a little of truth So profound to drown the reader Submerge them in your amphitheatre Circling us around a scene Whether harsh, or cruel, angry or mean, Or tender flowing like a stream, With love for friends And love for others. Always the treasured words you're hunting. When found, you put them all together And share them like a troubadour. I'm always wondering what's next in store. Shakespeare had not much on you, Just different time, Perhaps the mood. It's time to make a volume blue To sell within a little room Inside a book collector's store, For someday, we will wish for more. ......jo |
