I Fell In Love Today Today I awake just like any other day The clouds are a dreary gray Thunder in the distance I step outside the door The wind making a howling sound My gaze wonders to an old Maple tree On a tender limb swaying with the song of the wind Is a fragile little bird Her delicate wings sprinkled with white Atop her head a spray of red As I looked upon this beauty I fell in love today. Today I went for a relaxing walk in the rain The clouds rolling across the heavens As if racing from the sound of roaring thunder The wind kissing my skin and playing with my long hair of golden chestnut I stand and listen to the rain In the distance I hear the song of the sea A few short steps in front of me Is a child of joy Hands held high, while spinning to an unheard tune Her sparkling eyes holding my gaze A smile on my lips and a song within my heart I fell in love today. Today I fell asleep on a bed of roses Filling my soul with the essence of tranquility The one I love caressed my heated skin and spoke tender words of love and serenity The wind and the moon Rocking us in nature’s cradle of shaded desire This gentle motion sending my love and I into a quiet peaceful sleep As the wind brushes our cooling skin she sings a haunting melody The words swirl around us like a melodic symphony These coveted words are a blessing to all that do hear “I Fell In Love Today.” Bonnie J.  |
