Letters
Reading letters of the past Have caught me in a web of cast Taken me to phantoms wood To things I thought I understood.
Although the words are still the same Yet now they sport a different frame They seem to lance a different prance The nuance seems a different dance
Could be the heart has not stood still But added motes of sapid frill Quotes and odor distilled the years The lifting of the weight of fears
The eyes the same the feel and stay But time has left a point’s touché. And flame has withered into store And I have lost the feel of awe
God help us with embellishment And what in time was really meant.

Good morning, T-Man!
I do so know what you mean! I have felt the very same way when I have gone into my treasure trove of letters. Perspectives do change with the increased understanding we gain during our maturation process!
Have a glorious day!

I’ve reread letters myself Taking them from the box on the self To remember how it felt then To return me to that when But as I read each line I know it's tainted with time And I just reading to myself

You'd think the alphabet would stay in the same place ... but a mind weaves wonders, doesn't it?

Old letters are like old photographs...bring back good and bad memories...and tears are brought by both....missing the good times, remembering the bad times....
Thought provoking fersure Sy....well done..

"Could be the heart has not stood still"
The same thing is not the same when the heart is moving as it will...and it should.
Loved this wise piece of your morning thought, my friend.

Loved this one, Seymour. It is so true how when we go back and read things from earlier years, we see them so much differently. Much enjoyed your phrasing. ....jo
