Eastward from the sands View the blue, Rolling, rolling to the land; Sigh the sky, Pushing piling clouds to stand, Darker, dark, Shade as made the twilight can, Blown and thrown Done till sun rules sky again. Playful porpoises Drifting, lifting over waves, Flew in blue, Leaping, leaping water plays; Clouds then crowds Moving shade cools spots of day, Then sinking Through shadows sinking away. Gloom The Chinese Shan-Sui-Shih poetry (Poetry of Mountains and Rivers) of the Third and Fourth Centuries was the returning to natural innocence or purity of nature. The repeating word, rhyme or phrase in a line style is a innovation from the earlier Han Dynasty comes from the transforming the songs of the peasants to written poetry. That earlier poetry was mostly about relationships and historical event. Here I blend the earlier style with the similar later subject matter much as Wang Wei did in the Early T’ang Dynasty. |

one can feel from your writing that all is essential and connected, without one, the other would not survive... This was an enjoyable view...now I'm sitting here wishing I were a porpoise???? Look at what you did...bad boy...baaaaadddd boy! Smiles and hugs |

Thank you, LeeJ, You are kind in your praise, And that is the feeling I wished to convey, all is connected. This was written on the Delmarva Outer Banks as I read beneath the umbrella and watched over a dozen porpoises play in the waves. I almost put my book down and swam out to them, but the sun was rather intense beyond my shade and the waves rather rough form my old body. Thank you, Margherita, Pleased you enjoyed, the information comes from the books I was reading, just light reading of Chinese history and poetry. Thank you, Seymour, Glad you liked, but this was beach fun, not home work. Gloom |

I always enjoy your poems; you let others see through your eyes. In so many ways poetry surpasses a photograph; it can dig so much deeper. Thank you for sharing your talent so freely. |

Thank you, Copperbell, Pleased you enjoyed. These days, I find less time for poetic endeavors, Especially reading from my own library. I share with the what I can, when I can. Thank you, passing shadows, You are kind in your response. Thank you, Nakdthoughts, You tried and made a nice poetic response. Gloom |

You know, Professor, I think you would be a great professor of poetry! Honestly! This is just wonderful and so informative. It also answers my question as to whether you had a good time at the beach. ....jo |
