It's all here somewhere,
buried beneath the slag heap
of corroded memories -
The dreams, the desires,
everything I ever wanted,
the plan for my life -
all buried deep.
I knew it all once
when I was young ,
when the world was before me,
when hi, was more than a greeting
it was a way of life -
At first the rush was wonderful
euphoric and overwhelming;
my mind expanded
and I encompassed the universe -
soared with the angels
  but quickly forgotten
too quickly sometimes
until the rush no longer held sway .
I lost dreams then  -
I'm still trying to find some of them,
they hid beneath the rubble
of merely surviving -
of getting through the next day -
and the next.
They're still there somewhere,
I believe this,
if I can just find them
if I ...perhaps tomorrow I'll find them,
if I dream long enough -
if I fossick hard enough –
if I live…

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Wow Keth,  this poem says so much.  I believe
we all have that heap where they lie buried.

I also believe we will find the answers.

I believe you will...  I believe I used
the word believe enough....do you believe
this too?

Excellent.  Yes, the loss of the optimism and invincibility of youth, well put here.  Would that we could find those dreams once again, yes?  And believe in their fulfillment.

Excellent work, perhaps all that work makes those little treasures so precious when we find them! Take care!

Good write, Lynn.  Confessions here that we all have in one way or another...whether an addiction to a job or to something else, sometimes life and dreams just get buried...the good news being, they're only buried, not lost.   ....jo

Keth beloved one, Oh dear Lord, how exquisite is this, I wish so much I had even half your ability darling one, but its no use I never will. You know I’m going to say this is utterly perfect don’t you? Well, of course I am because it is. The structure, the flow, that ending all combine to reveal the genius that is you, your writing is truly outstandingly good, and that you can write so that I believe in the person is a prime example of that.

Truly exquisite beloved one, I love this, I love it utterly

Love you always
And forever more

Yes, our dreams and aspirations can get buried under the fall-out debris from experiencing life's day-to-day battles. But all is not lost to you! I am sending you a shovel to dig up those buried treasures! Dream on, Dear Kethry! Tomorrow is another day ~ and as Orphan Annie sang out, "The Sun will come out tomorrow!"

Shovel Sun 3

A very well-written and moving write which will be greatly understood by many of your readers!

May you uncover your dreams and manifest them into reality!

Some of my dreams are better left buried... some of them will be buried with me. *S*

This is wonderful, my friend... the ending is as powerful as it is poignant!!! Absolutely excellent!

And if you need some help digging... let me know. *S*

This is an excellent piece here.  Great job!

In my eyes, I'm not lazy.  In your eyes, I'm not worth it.
