Trembling like a boat engine
Turning over a guitar
Silenced for the certain
As the eagle flies afar

Street screaming towards a river
Accompanied by yearly hoof beats
Tormented photographs fiber
Melodramatic sweetmeats

Jump shots early morning worlds
Reading multiplied papayas
Upper stares arise impearled
Towels left on a desk in folded chances

Leaping doubloon-shaped pleasures
Learning from early childhood dreams
Last winters timeline clusters
Woven doorways of narratives

Reading weekends so delicately strung together
Patching leaks on an old slate roof
Arranging flowers in glass vases
Spoon-feeding a determined front porch

Great bitterness turns to morning prayers
Button factories saving indelible imprints
For revolving poor boys and girls
Uttering great need from alleyway blueprints

Years of weathered taxes drink again
Paid for with the purse of thirst
Swimming imperfect and complex
Like an already poor town’s luster immersed

Changes give out numbers in a waiting room
Hangovers blister, feeling like a lover
Mastering inspired paintings loom
While great athletes swagger pleasures
Sustaining and act of patriotism
Like a mini-series blooms
