The wind now shifts
And she in slumber lays dark covered
Only the outline against a headboard of stars
And I wait for her to move

Gentle the grace of midnight
Paler skin now shadowed
But still the curve of arm
Half thrown on pillowed grass
Tempts me to trace the trails of past

Dusty now
                  Perhaps

Fainter stains on white
Aged it seems as am I
A bit more brittle
                   Yet set to lines
And in subtle describe

There was a day
     When flesh blushed warm
Anticipating night

She moved
A gentle ripple of satin on the dark
And I recall her feel against my own
                                      how it feels to drown
a rushing gushing groan of life

no more my own
                            but given to the dawn

I wonder once again
     And write these words
To you

I've got to look at the title prior to reading! I find myself mezmorized by your journey, then look at the title with sadness,
brittle paper, huh?  I hope it's brittle only because she has kept and protected it for so long as you (plural) wake to the dawning.  (Gee, I wonder if you write of truth or fiction.  I never can tell around here!)

we've, many of us, at one time in our lives or another, had the blessing and taste of love, but for some reason, didn't realize how to care for it...

You sir, have come to realize, the treasures which out weigh any material thing...but more so, the refinery of a fine aged wine, now ready for the tasting...

Lovely read there my friend, amorous, soft, gentle and allowing, with patience splashing across a fine canvas of the way of things.

It felt like you reached out and brushed the hair from my face..

****EXQUISITE****

Magnus has chosen to highlight my favorite lines as well!

I must say, the title is a poem in and unto itself. Wonderful!

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
