Broken Dreams Broken dreams sipped through seams on minds blanket like the water escaping down wall-sides ended in forming puddles drying dying out written confessions from the other-side Like the traveller flocking from city to city naming every place his own found a New World inside a wishing well no coin touched the bottom but my own Thrown from dreams to reality like piggy in the middle never been caught half-way into your greeting arms of friendship laughter became our nervous glitch Warmth leathered skin in cloth made by sun ruined by the wetness of waters slap coolness grained into the mixture enhanced by your loving lips against my spoken no’s Through the treaded paths we walked on past our frozen feelings awaiting release we defeated and brought the ever-lasting calm Held in our love as one body fled away didn’t want to leave you alone as we discovered each other never let go of me keep me forever inside for I wait in the place you know you’ll find me The place no living person can seem to tread or find… Lee Hepworth |
