When quiet pain enters your back door The things we humans do O to cancel the stinging sore Such things we drive each other to Distractions dancin' taps 'round my spinal core How does one suffer as well as you Hold on tight, stock up on strife Sacrifice feelings, kill false hopes Babe, burn those bridges, Just try to cope The play's a tragedy of condition Drop the blame and blade from your breast The part is yours without audition Ride cool waves from ebb to crest Try a journal of tight contrition Is angry life not still hev'nly blest |

Thanks danni for seeing what is in my words, they come from seeing someone close live "quiet pain" and in her living it, I have. I think the start and ending particularly holds something of the mystery of such pain and solution of where to go from here. I'll try to write a follow up poem if that interests you. |

I agree about the start and ending. It's bewildering how these feelings creep and linger. I have been trying to find an oulet for my own "quiet pain". I think that I have by keeping a journal and attempting poetry. Anyway, I would be very interested in a follow-up. |
