You have become my one love Yet you are a chained dove Peace of mind is held from some Listeners and speakers are deaf and dumb The darkness deep, and so remains Nothing washes, not even the rains I hear you, love, a bird of despair Beating injured wings in a weary heart there This soul-rending felt, is years your pain Would I could take it, make me insane To lessen pounding pressures on you Please lean on me, my Love so true. I'll do my best to guard the gate And shield you from the eyes of hate. Stay with me... I wrote this a long time ago for a friend. I hope it has some meaning for my friends here and now... You arms are warm but they make me feel, As If they're made of cold cold steel, A simple kiss like a turning key, A little click and the locks on me. D.B. There was nothing I found discomfiting about the poem. All I merely meant when I said "those intended" are those of us who have experienced first hand the emotions and circumstance you conveyed in your poem. I apologize if I offended you. I can really relate to this beutiful poem it is not neccesarily dark in what most consider but dark in its own lonesome way. GREAT POEM ------------------ life is short kill quick |
