I've finally learned
what youth does not know
of their relentless attempt
to live forever with
their denial of time's contempt.

I've finally learned
that youth is a short-lived gift,
allowing eternal belief
in selves that are indestructible
for moments, however brief.

Finally, my friend
I have entered the tired realm
of a crippling adulthood
plauged with endless longing
for where in youth I stood.

I disagree. Youth is a state of mind and i refuse to give it up. Youthful passion is what drives my creative spirit. While I can not deny the passing of time on my face and frame, I choose to remain young forever.

Thanks for the feedback...However Youth can be a state of mind and representitive of more than "age". We can no disagree with another's feelings...We cannot know another's experience until it is ours and we own it.
