For so long i have breathed the happiness of others
Inhaling their laughter
while i exhale my own desires
Invisibly they float through space
uknown, undetectable
they flutter before my face

Even as i yearn to grasp them
i find it futile
They are as elusive as the autum wind.
i cannot contain them,
to analize them
i cannot see them
to understand them
i cannot hear them
to follow them
I cannot feel them
to beleive in them.

And in the chill of December
As my burning lungs gasp for the warmth of a smile
and i exhale a cloud of smoke.
do not think You know them,
do not think that you can understand them
for while they are seen
they will never be caught.

They're there calling for me
like pigeons in a park,
and i am the boy who chases them.
diving, staining, scraping my knee.
As they are flapping, squalking, eluding me
only to land again.
And i, catch my breath,
only to chase again.

And you just sit and laugh
you must know something i don't know.
