You claim life has conspired against you
so you take from it each night
little children run from you
as you cackle with delight

Tattered clothes that stink of rum
and a stale unwashed smell
you wonder through the streets
in your own private hell

A scar runs from your forehead
down the side of your face
legend says you fought a war
in some strange far off place

No friends, no family, no home
you just simply exist
living you life by your wits
or by the power of your fist

No one will mourn your passing
if your body is found someday
you will become nothing more
than tissue in decay.

Well, a different feel from your other work. I would like to know exactly what the challenge was because it seemed to open up an avenue I've never seen you explore.

I just asked DE to give me a phrase..the first line is what he gave me...I just took it from there........there wasn't a conscious effort to make it dark, that just happened. JP, you would be surprised at my range... why not challenge me yourself?
