The Puzzle I walked over to the mirror, They say the mirror never lies. So I looked dead on into it, Peered straight through my own eyes. But I saw nothing in there, But the cold and distant stare Of a man, once proud, a dream long dead, In the sweltering pit of emotional disrepair. Can you feel my pain touching my tears? Can you read my thoughts from my heart beating? Can you see emptiness staring in my eyes, Or hear the silence of dry hope fleeting? Can you appreciate my foredoomed efforts, Or are you simply set too far above me? Can you taste my hate when we make love? Seething rotten bitch, what would you have of me? Why is your reflection set deep in my mind? Why do thoughts of you rain down upon my soul? In my world which you tore apart, How could you be the piece that makes it whole? The Dreaded One |

This is quite powerful, Dreaded One, let me be the first to say welcome to the Dark Forum! Indeed, how can something that hurts so bad be the one thing we need so bad....good poem. ------------------ Michael Anderson Is all that we see or seem but a dream within a dream? |
