Things fell apart crumbling in bits and pieces The more you tried to fix it the more you spun your wheels You thought it couldn't get worse that someday the pain would stop But each day the crush grew stronger drawing you down farther from the top You prayed for your mind to clear and those suicidal dreams came whispering seductively sweet promises of peace Obsessing with every detail you thought of how it would end Walking beside the fear the pills your only friend You fantasized about your death sitting in the shade warm water wrapped around you candles and rusty razor blades You half listened to the voices that urged you to step from the curb Wondered how it'd feel to jump from the bridge and how much gasoline would burn Could you pull the trigger Flash - Smoke - Gone or close your eyes and let go of the wheel a hundred miles an hour in the sun Walk into the ocean let waves wash overhead take a deep breath in a liquid world suffocating death But it was twisted, gnarled trunks and skeletal limbs reaching the sky on the hilltop under the moon that was the perfect place to die You said your pathetic prayers wailed cursed and screamed But in the end you knew reality was the noose you dreamed Suicidal Dreams... ~~~~ |

Great poem. You basically caught my mindset for the past few years and put it on paper...uh..err, computer screen.
