THE DEMON WITHIN. The day you were born your faith was decided. Your mom couldn’t keep you from being divided. The first years of life it couldn’t be seen, but you were slowly tortured by the demon within. You knew that some day it would have to come out, you fought it away but there was never a doubt. At the age of sixteen you became a machine, and you were totally controlled by the demon within. Now you’re sitting in a corner with the rifle in your hand, you feel like there’s no reason and it’s more than you can stand. The demon takes control and says it’s time to end the game, the clock is slowly ticking but there’s no one left to blame. You grew into a monster, had no feelings whatsoever. Your family deceived you and hated you forever. One day your door was knocked on and someone tried to get in, it was a deadly message from the demon within. You looked into his eyes and saw reflections of your soul, his hands were reaching for you, he had complete control. You tried to get away but he had crept under your skin, you had now become addicted to the demon within. Now you’re sitting in a corner with the rifle in your hand, you feel like there’s no reason and it’s more than you can stand. The demon takes control and says it’s time to end the game, the clock is slowly ticking but there’s no one left to blame. You felt the monster in you and it made you cold inside, you knew it had to happen and you knew you couldn’t hide. This was the final battle there was no way you could win, the war was already won by the demon within. You lifted up the rifle and felt the shiny steel, you pulled the trigger softly, but this time it was for real. Your body sunk together, this was your final sin, just another victim of the demon within. Ask me how to live your life, and this to you I´ll say: make your choises true and wise, so that when tomorrow will arise, you´ll smile at yesterday... |

We all have a demon within as we all have an angel within as well. Maybe that person's angel was still-born. When pain consumes us for long enough it sucks out all our life, though suicide is never the answer. Life has a purpose, I know this. We all have our demons the challenge is to tame them. powerful poem, enjoyed reading this. ------------------------ "I've been too honest with myself I should have lied like everybody else"-Richey Edwards "Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time". Baltimore Grotto "Libraries gave us power Then work came and made us free What price now for a shallow piece of dignity" Nicky Wire, A design for Life. manic street preachers "Rock 'n' roll is our epiphany Culture, alienation, boredom and despair" "To be nobody-but-yourself-in a world which is doing its best night and day, to make you everybody else - means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting." E.E Cummings. |

Talk about deep impact. This really goes straight to the soul.Like B-M said, suicide is never the answer. We all have the demons living and growing with us, we just have to control it. Lovely poem, it was a nice read. |
