You tell me that you love me You say you are devout But your kind of love I can really do with out Your actions don’t show love Disgust is what I detect The words that you speak They show me no respect When you decide to speak to me Demeaning words are your choice Grinding me into the dirt With that tone in your voice With you I can do nothing right Doesn’t matter what it might be You’re always searching for fault And little ways to degrade me Always finding a new approach To keep me under your thumb You can’t lose your control So you treat me like I’m dumb Now dumb I may have been For choosing you as my lifes mate I’ve tried to make things better But I fear I’m a little too late I've tried to make you see Given it everything I've got Things are too far gone now More severe than I thought The things that you say And the anger that you bare Treating me like a child To me it’s really not fair At first I was hurt Now I’m just damn mad Your child I am not I already have a Dad One that truly loves me He’s very gentle and kind How does one do that? I’ll bet that blows your mind! So pardon me "your arrogance" Your expectations I can not sustain You’d better make some changes Before you cause me any more pain For these walkin’ boots are ready They’re fittin’ just like a glove And they’re ready to start a walkin’ Away from your so called love [This message has been edited by Irie (edited 05-18-2000).] |

If it is real and not vicarious writing, then I commend you for seeing the truth of "his kind of love". The poem showed strength and determination. One phrase comes to mind, "You go, girl!" duch |

Isis...Thank you! Giving him one last chance! Starboards...I try to be strong, but sometimes it breaks me down. But I always manage to get back up on my feet and brush of the dust. Sven...thank you so much for your always kind words! Glad you liked this one. Danny...Yes, unfortunately it is real life, but working on it!  Joel....I haven't started walkin' cuz I'm a fighter. I don't give up so easy. I still love him, just going to take some work. BUT, if things don't change soon, I'm walkin' and he knows it! Duch....His kind of love is in need of change. I'm trying to show him what love is supposed to be....we'll see. I know you all might think I'm a glutten for punishment....but like I said. I don't quit until I KNOW there is no chance! Believe me when I say I put him in his place when needed! And if the time comes, I'll walk!
