passion lost how sad the thought..... of lost passion. the beginning - passion runs strong. excitement, sparks.....lust. time passes, responsibilities grow while the passion begins to shrink (fade). changes take place, priorities shift; the sparks burn out. eyes once blazing, now bleak (emotionless) .....dead (dying) embers. desperate love is all that's left, sad, yearning looks. unable to say just where the passion has gone. two people.....once full of life, now fragile, empty shells. if you listen closely, you will hear..... the silent screams of a passion lost. ~celtic rose - 2000~ |

God how well I know this, it is a very sad thing. and well put here. thank you. Joel. I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel. |

thanks joel, spitfire, i have a strong fear of marriage. i have seen so many of my friends' marriages end up in divorce or diffidence. it would kill me - i think - to lose that passion that in the beginning is so very strong. i know that things change - but how sad to lose that passion for one another. sheba |

Sheba~ Interestingly enough, hon .. it doesn't happen to everyone in this way. For many the fire of desire burns passionately for quite a while ... when the flame settles into the embers of life .... just remember .... the smolder of the ember gives off a steady glow that is blown gently back to life. Just gotta make sure the embers are kept a'glow. Nicely put thoughts. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

Sheba, this topic is something I know much about (even though I am still young). It's hard when this happens to a relationship and even harder when you realize in your next relationship that it's happening again. But Marge is right. The embers can be blown back into life. My current relationship is proof of that. Try and overcome your fears, for what is even worse than losing the passion is passing up the opportunity for the passion to exist. ~* Megs *~ |

Sadly this happens all too often, but thankfully not all the time. God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know it's me. ~Unknown |

This is quite a good synopsis of what really happens when "passion" dies. If passion can die, though, was it passion to begin with, or just lust? I always wonder, are passion and lust the same? I hope there's some difference. When someone says they are passionate about me...I worry about what they really mean. Good poem! |
