Dark Lady stands at a cliff,
about to fly.
Stands there thinking,body stiff.
Wants to die.
She's on the edge.

Pale & Sickly in a bed of vomit,
she's so fat.
Hates herself, hates the world, wants to bomb it.
She'll die,she knows that.
She's on the edge.

He's a Lonely Shadow with a knife,
about to let it go.
Cut out the rest of his life.
Wants to see it flow.
He's on the edge.

Beauty Queen with a medicine cabinet,
she's so sad.
Daddy has a bad habit.
She'll die,she's glad.
She's on the edge.

He's 75 today,with a gun,
about to fill his mind with lead.
Wife is gone,friends are none.
Wants to be dead.
He's on the edge.

Hungry girl on a bridge over ocean,
she's so tired.
No food,no job.Sick of going through the motions.
Need for rest is dire.
She's on the edge.

We only ask them why AFTER they do it.
Why not before?
Because we never notice,or don't want to go through it?
Don't bother to help heal the sore.
Maybe we're on the edge too.

When we finally do ask why,
the answer is the same.
WHY? They ask it too, before they say goodbye.
Ask why the world is pain.
Why? Why are we all on the edge of death?

Sometime I feel like I'm "on the edge" to. I fear one day I'll find the curage to jump off it. I really liked this piece, it made me think, I like that. Take care you.~Broken~

"Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering fearing,
Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before;
But the silence was unbroken, and the stillness gave no token"

I've been on this edge before, with the lead just grains of presser on the trigger,
My spirit cried out, and said why, My soul said live, I listened.
Glad I did.
This was too close to home but I answered any way.
If you get to this edge, and need a reason not to jump, call me.

Somewhere i read that "the mass of men live their lives in quiet desparation".  Maybe the greatest success any of us have is to survive ourselves as we struggle with the circumstances of our lives.  Maybe the answer is to just "keep passing the open windows".

Thanks all for the comments =]it's a comfort =]
Broken- the shadow named here is a friend of mine. I've listed several of my acquantinces here...including myself...i'm the dark lady ready to fly,but the wind always holds me back. I have the courage to let it go,in fact it would happen in a minute, but i have 3 good reasons to stay on earth. And i will NOT allow myself to comprimise my purposes.

Joel- Thank you for your support. Just knowing you offered is enuf to comfort me.=] i thank you =]

Danny- You hit the nail on the head!! Thank you also for your words of wisdom =]

thank you all so much. You are a great comfort to me =]

hey-
I loved this poem!  I especially liked the last 2 paragraphs.  They made me realize that sometimes people don't get help because they can't...now adays no one's willing to give it to someone.  Often times they don't even know anything is wrong...it's sad actually.
