I stood there, just sobbing. Couldn't breathe- Legs burning- Too long of running from it all. Convinced no one else had felt like this. I looked above, Agony leisurely strolling upon my face. My eyes, so full of empty, Cried a tear of awe- Never before such majesty they had saw. Who would have thought a Live Oak tree Would save my Dead Human soul? Or so I felt it to be. Tiny ferns clung, ever so delicately, To the branches, so fine and strong. Spanish moss, so gracefully hung, swayed like Natural pinatas, in tune to their own Secret song. I closed my eyes, so I could witness it all. Visualized the generations past who had Stood here, proud and tall. I could almost hear the whispers, The gossip of the womenfolk, The kids climbing as high as they could, The lovers who had met here under this Quiet, protective hood of Soft, tender leaves and Hard, living wood. I felt it rush out of me, My pain and my rage. My breath, now easy, In my legs, new energy abounds. And I finally saw what I had found. God's majesty lovingly planted in the ground. ****kynder The years teach much which the days never know. Ralph Waldo Emerson |

Spit is right, this is a great thing. and yes Trees do have a lot to say, and feel. I have run up this very same trail. And had stoped at this tree. Joel. I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel. |

~WOW~!!!!!!! This was an awesome poem! I needed to read something like this today. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful tribute to the majesty that is all around us, the majesty that we can all forget to see and appreciate. |
