In the park at twilight
I do not understand
But then you run to me
and take me by the hand
YOu lead me to the swings
You  say "push me"
when I hesitate you look at me
and ask "What's wrong Mommy"
I look into your eyes
Eyes that match my own
They twinkle as they tell me
What I've secretly known
My little angel has come to me
It's time for us to play
Something that could never happen
In the light of Day
We play on the see-saws
Spin on the merry go round
Your laughter tinkling in the air
Such a beautiful sound
I stroke your hair and
Hold you  tightly next to me
You  snuggle in so nice and warm
This is how it was supposed to be
Slowly you start to fade away
You blow a kiss goodbye
I beg for you to stay
As a tear falls from my eye
You whisper you'll be back
And it's carried on the breeze
Sobbing now on the ground
Begging on my knees
I want to dream and never wake up
For, thats  when you come to me
My precious darling
My angel baby

 Mystical being
which makes ink flow
Surround me in
your incandescent glow
Fill my brain with
thoughts and rhyme
As I try to capture
but a moment in time

Wow. This poem has brought a serious visual to my mind and a catch to my breath. As someone who has given a child up for adoption in my younger and not so good days this hits so close to home!
Thank you for the smile and the knowledge that I am not alone!
Someday we will all swing together on the playground!

StarrGazer, as a mother I share your pain.  Nice to imagine being with them and playing with them.
I miscarried a daughter so I know your pain hon, my daughter would be 6 this year.
Some believe they continue to age and grow up in heaven.
*hugs* this brought tears to my eyes, for I know the pain... I have a small home made memorial for my daughter in my back yard, with a little plaque under the jacaranda tree,
I go and sit there to feel close to her.
If you ever need to talk you know where I am hon...

A heart and soul are not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others...

Starr, my heart to you kid.
I have lost so many.
I've said this before,
"They still know we love them"
"And they love us back"
Joel.

I howl a mornful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel.

Starr~
I hope your dreams never end, sounds like he often reaches you this way. Isis said that some believe that they continue to age and grow this is my belief and one day you will be with him again and your dream will have just begun.
Sweet dreams

Joel, Tracie, Irish thanks for your replies

Tracie- I believe that they continue to age, my dreams made me a believer of that I no longer dream of a baby I dream of a little boy and sometimes it is so real I think he really truly does come to me in my dreams, because I can see him grow and just like my other children I end up thinking to myself ...they get big way too fast ! and one day we'll all be together
