A pebble rides the tides...

A pebble in the oceans riding the waves...
The tides roar announcing their arrival...
Kissing the shore they withdraw...only to return
And with the tide that flies it to the moon
Dauntless though the waters unknown...
Reaching for the stars...a million years away...
A pebble riding the ocean waves...
And not always can the tides be heard...
But silence could speak a thousand words...
The tides could draw it in and swallow...
Could kill enthusiasm...leaving it hopeless..
Then crush it’s bones...making it weary...
Still taking the chance...to go the distance...
To explore the unknown...the unfamiliar...
What lies ahead...and lost behind...
Above the earth...still beneath the sky...
A pebble rides the ocean waves...

heloo all this one is from the workshop...
topic being "extended metaphor's" well i just wanted to try...so i went ahead

If all was light...then I would have never learnt the dark...from which such truth evolves
from which evolves the light...

AVANTI, glad you tried.  This turned out great.  I can just see that little pebble getting lost in the waves.

The pebble will have a hard time, angst insurmountable odds.
the killer of enthusiasm, and the swallower of hope and crushing it all in one.
All in All, good, and I mean that.
Joel.

"But silence could speak a thousand words...
"  This line speaks a thousand words, my friend.  Excellent poem.

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there.
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind...
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind...
The wind and your love to carry me.
