I want to reassert my memories,
For that is all I have left you see,
Life's highway crowded with leavers and searchers,
The same as me.

My life so precarious,
Balanced on the edge of reality,
Teetering and tottering,
One wrong move and I'm gone, falling free..

I'm too young to feel so old,
To innocent to know such pain,
People only take, take, take,
Whatever they can gain.

I am invisible and small,
The voice in the wilderness,
Some choose to silence it's mournful cry,
I am lost somewhere in space and time.

The fragrance of dreams fills the forest,
Children pause and take heed of the smell,
Do not forget it my little ones,
Within those dreams and realities is the place where happiness dwells.

The fragrance changes,
It has now become nostalgia,
Dreams to revisit occasionally,
Memories to cry over, when there is no one there.

Somewhere between childhood and adolescence,
There are harsh realities
Tests, deaths, feats, rites, stories and songs,
And ultimately the judgements.

I'll hope and pray that life judges me kindly,
That it won't take away the few things I hold so dear,
That it will allow me the hope to start again,
At the beginning of each new year.
