~A Heart Alone~

Loneliness --
Being alone with people near.
Depression --
Lacking companionship,
Lacking love;
Needing something impossible
From someone invisible.
Never-ending search,
Treasure non-existent,
Paradise extinct.
Where is the answer?
When will I find my heart's desire?
Why can't I have what my soul craves?
Love exists --
I know it does
It has to!
My soul wouldn't crave companionship,
My heart wouldn't desire fulfillment,
My body wouldn't need to be touched,
If Love didn't exist.
It's there --
Somewhere, far beyond my reach;
But it's there!
Tempting the yearnings of my heart
With tantalizing fantasies
And reality pictures;
Stoking the ashes of my lonely, envious heart,
Kindling a fire of longing;
But then quickly dowsing its newborn flames
With taunting words of loneliness
That scar my heart --
Ripping away my hopes and dreams --
Leaving me to wallow in self-pity and tears.
My heart in pieces,
My soul in chains --
I fall -- Devastated -- to the floor,
Hoping beyond Hope
That Love will find me --
That it exists --
That it cares --
That it wants me,
Wants me to be happy.
Because I need Love --
Because I am nothing without it.

I was thinking about you the other day...
thanks for the reply to my poem...you may say wow always... I'm grateful that you read them...

this is excellent...I related to this one WAY too much...you have expressed longing and need SO perfectly here, it aches right off the page...great work...

Sorry for the typographical error that occured. What I meant to say was that I couldn't believe my eyes when I read your poem, you caught me by suprise, good job!

You know what, Love is love, we all need it, but we despise it also. Love will love you, but will turn on you, love takes no prisoners, but you can be a prisoner of love. Very nice poem, Much love, One love, PEACE

WOW! From me too Aiden!! But I will add love is close, very close, it's in your heart with you always.
I know how you feel though..
If you look at your life for a couple of minutes within a single minute you'll know who loves you..

May the world hug you today,
With it's warmth and love.
I pray it whispers a joyful tune in your heart,
That tell you there is a friend sitting in another corner of the world,
