The leaves begin to rustle as the wind stirs
A tree sways and bends turning every which way it’s pushed
I take a deep breath and savor the freshness it offers
As the dark clouds gather my hair begins to stand on end
Lighting strikes in the distance as my rebel thoughts linger
Rain begins to fall softy at first … a warning of what is to come
No longer do the leaves rustle, now scattering before the winds’ might
The tree now lies batter and broken by this rage
Energy unlike any other I have felt now feels the air
With the tree already dealt with the lighting seeks new prey
The rain turns to hail pelting my skin with every drop
I search for away out … shelter
With no where to go I stop running and now I fear that I must face your might
No matter how futile the fight, I will no longer sway or bend
My heart has turned cold and my pride worn away
One may think that you are my end
Yet I know as the lighting strikes me …
My time to pass has yet to come
Now the wind settles and rain slows
The lighten fades and atmosphere stale
Yet here I stand knowing that
My time to pass has yet to come

There's a peace inside us all
Let it be your friend
It will help you carry on
In the end
There's a peace inside us all
