LIFE AND DEATH To wallow in the throes of Death, To suffer the agony, the sting. To fight the drip of lifeblood with Flailing arms of puppets hung on string. We walk as living corpses, somber, Heeding what Destiny decrees. Bleeding away our dreams and passions In waning shadows of faded memories. We feel the chill of ill-born wishes, A billion coins, stillborn, basing the wells. Trade in our pride and sell our kisses For glimpses of hope Time soon dispels. Till empty hearts and glossless eyes Mock all proverbial afterthought. Till sincerity, with ridicule, implies The best aspirations are those forgot. Lie sedate, dear child, let Time dispose Any innate desires, even that to breathe. Close your eyes in sweet repose, Sleep soundly in Mortality's bequeath. For the only sting to death is life. And the only life lost is that engrieved With wilting flowers that only symbolize the strife Of selfish man inclined to be bereaved. ------------------ Michael Anderson And so, being young and dipt in folly I fell in love with melancholy, But dreams - of those who dream as I, Aspiringly, are damned, and die: EAP |

Seems a fitting tribute to Death it does. ------------------ Now and forever my heart hears ~one voice~. DreamEvil© |
